According to Jerry Falwell Jr., president of Liberty University, a Christian college
in Virginia: "Jesus taught that we should give to the poor and support widows, but
he never said that we should elect a government that would take money from our
neighbor's hand and give it to the poor."
My response to Mr. Falwell: I think this is true…There are a
lot of things Jesus never said to do...
So, According to Mr. Falwell's logic, we should oppose anything Jesus did not tell
us to do. If Jesus did not say to do it, it must be un-Christian. Thus, Social
Security and Medicare are un-Christian. Public education is un-Christian. (The
Founding Fathers got that wrong) AND… Democracy is
un-Christian because Jesus did not preach for it. The
list goes on..
